The reason I started blogging was to share my photos with someone, anyone, in order to get feedback and become a better photographer. I don’t think that’s really what happened. Mostly I just made friends. Sometimes I feel that because some of the people that visited my blog liked me, they didn’t give me the critique I was asking for. I usually just got, Wow, what a great photo, or nothing at all. I suppose I’m going to have to go back to school to get what I’m looking for. There’s nothing like hanging your photos side by side with your fellow students and seeing just how much more you could have done.
Until then, this is my forum. And having gotten up the courage to share my photos with everyone, I’ve decided to take a step forward and try to sell my work. I’ve been advertising on Craig’s List to do weddings and such and I’ve put together a website (of sorts) at januaryphoto.weebly.com. I’m also…deep breath…going to make a few stops at some local ad agencies and try to get some jobs that actually pay.
Sooo….the point of that ramble is, I’ve got my first wedding scheduled in April. I did their engagement photos over the weekend and you can view them below.
