i cannot use my old user name
If thats the message you get then there is a big change we are able
to restore (part) your profile
(depending how much info our scripts could get from search engines etc)
Anyway if all goes well our team will put the info online 13th of January,
we’re thinking if there’s any possibility to check if a user is actualy that
user, so any good ideas/suggestions would be appreciated.
Else we think when you sign up as a user where there is any history available
there will be an option to import this.
In that case other members can report in case someone is not honest.
Thanks,
the Journalplace.com team

I was able to get my old name, so that sounds like you don’t have any of my info. :o(
That’s awesome, though, that you can do that! :o)

Well, I am greeneyes67. Logged in here as greeneyes67b. Does this mean you have part of my profile? That would be amazing!
I could not use greeneyes67 at all. I don’t know how you can identify me except my picture would be the same as my old one. I will be anxiously awaiting. Does this mean I could import the info into my new user account?

The profile info was always an irritating distraction, rather than an asset, so I deleted it - module by module - from my account until only the username remained. It’s a pleasure to be starting afresh with a clean slate, and I wish you better fortune with the JournalSpace domain than your predecessor. *Salutes.*
Content is king.

I think some of you don’t realise, this is NOT the old journalspace! They did NOT get the OLD journalspace software and data, only the domain name.

I would be hesitant to create a system that relies on the kind of policy that has members reporting on the honesty of other members because it is not necessarily verifiable. It might be better to let old profiles die.

Hey,
it is the 13th…how do we go about trying to get our usernames back? I can’t use mine, but I’m having trouble understanding what that means…
In any case, I was GoGo on journalspace and would like to get my name back!
Thanks so much,

I don’t really know what to say. I tried to recreate my blog using my old name and it won’t allow me. It was said that it means something from the old JS was saved and would be available today and I can’t find anything either under my user name or my blog name. I guess I will have to wait a few days more to see if something happens.

people, try using your names without capital letters or hyphens… that might work. And Belle Black, read my comment further up. Starryskye, the original JS crashed, this one is under new ownership.

Hi, I can’t log in… I had not checked my blog for a while and from what I can gather, someone else is running JS now. Does this mean that I have lost all of my entries from the beginning of time? That would be terrible news as I never backed up my blog… Could we get some claification on this?

Still nothing. I’ve tried no caps…and now I can’t even get msgogo to work right.
I want the old JS.
Above all else, though, I want my name and the assurance that I can still have it–I don’t care about my old blog…I had everything archived.
Another thing, I can’t find any way to reach anyone who’s running this site. I miss that about the old JS, too; at least I knew where to go for help.

GoGo

You can edit your name on your profile page. You can change it to whatever you want. As for not being able to reach anyone? I think they are probably overwhelmed with setting all this up maybe? It’s only been up for 3 days. It is frustrating I know.

Well it’s just another Wordpress site. Nothing grandiose about this. My user name wasn’t in this system either, but I was able to register new with my user name. I figure my data is lost forever as I have not received anything from JS - though at least on several occasions I paid with Paypal.

GoGo- I know what you mean about the name thing, I had to go with a similar name, but not MY name. *sigh* Such is life. I did put that in my email I sent them about features, my old name had bot caps and a hyphen, which they don’t allow for usernames on here. I did send an email a few days ago to the email Mando posted above, and they responded fairly quickly. Hope that helps.

as someone said; THIS IS NOT JS. it’s a domain name being routed to wordpress. IF you sign up here; you are signing up for a wordpress blog.
IF they are able to access ANY of your old js stuff; that’s actually kinda fishy, i think. they are either just pulling stuff off various sites on the net; or they got more than a domain name on ebay.
the former creeps me out a little; cause it implies purposeful searching for some[?] of us.
the latter seems misleading & a little shady, to me. that would mean that there WAS something of “US” left AND that dylan sold it to the new guys.
whaddayathink? make any sense to anyone else?
